The Hunt 103 Mapping nib is similar to the Hunt 100 Artist nib, except for a few small but important differences. Both nibs have a similar feel, are small and have very fine delicate points that require a light touch for sufficient control, although the 103 is somewhat less fragile. The 103 is more flexible than the 100 and it is a slightly larger nib. The #103 is best for mapping and fine line work. It can be used for tiny writing (small x-heights) and drawing fine details rather than actual script, but can be used for Copperplate and Spencerian. The nib produces relatively healthy swells for an extra-fine nib and is resilient on the down strokes. It performs best on smooth surfaces. This nib is ideal for intermediate or advanced level calligraphers and is not recommended for beginners. May be used with a classic straight or oblique pen holder. Made in USA.
