These goose quills were the principal writing instrument from the 6th to the 19th century. Hand cut, the quill provides a sharp stroke and flexibility. The hollow shaft of the feather acts as a reservoir for ink. These are natural feathers (with unnatural colours - if you ever see a burgundy goose, be sure to ask for a few feathers for us), so each will vary from the photos.

This quill has is fitted with a cito nib to improve practicality and durability while retaining the original style.
