The composition leaf offers a similar working experience and look to genuine metal leaf at a fraction of the cost. Composition leaf is an alloy material made from  combination of metals, e.g., 86% copper:14% zinc.  It is not as thin as pure metal leaf, it is easier to handle, but doesn’t burnish down quite as well as genuine silver.  Use cotton gloves and/or tweezers to handle and to minimize tarnishing prior to sealing. The silver leaf looks like silver and does not tarnish or discolour.
