Fountain Pen Nibs

The heart of any fountain pen is the combination of the nib and the feed. The feed controls the flow of ink, not too much, not too little. Bock is a major supplier of nibs and feeds to a large number of pen manufacturers. The Bock nibs we have for sale are likely to be as good or in many cases better than the one the pen originally came with. Whether you need a replacement fountain pen nib for one you have damaged, or just want another to change the style of your pen, we have what you need.

Our range of Bock nibs all include a feed in a threaded housing. You may or may not need the feed or housing, but the simplest way to replace or change the nib on many pens (such as most Kaweco or TWSBI pens) is to simply unscrew the housing containing the feed and nib, and screw in another. With other pens, you will need to remove the nib from the feed and housing.

#5 nibs are designed to fit a feed which is 5mm in diameter. They are 7mm wide at the widest point and 26mm long. Pens using this nib include TWSBI 580 and Eco. It is also known as Bock type 180.

#5 wide nibs are also designed to fit a 5mm feed, but have a wider shoulder to emphasis the nib in the pen. They are 8.4mm wide at the widest point and 26mm long. Many Visconti pens use this nib. It is also known as Bock type 076.

#5 short nibs again use a 5mm feed, but are shorter than regular #5 nibs. They are 7mm wide at the widest point and 22mm long. Most Kaweco and Karas Kustoms pens use this nib. It is also known as Bock type 060.

#6 nibs are designed to fit a 6mm diameter feed. They are 8.4mm wide at the widest point and 23mm long. Pens using this nib include TWSBI Vac 700. It is also known as Bock type 250.

Lamy fountain pen nibs have a proprietary style which allows simple changing of the nib. All Lamy nibs are interchangable, with the exception of the 2000. The gold nib from a Lamy Imporium will fit on a Safari (and looks awesome). We also stock Lamy 2000 nibs.

Many other pen manufacturers will only sell nibs as a complete front section (feed, nib and grip). This is a simpler and safer way to change a nib, but often more expensive.
