The traditional approach to wax seals - a long (210mm) baton of wax melted over a flame. These wax sticks with their own wicks were traditionally used to seal royal documents, and will make about 50 seals using our 25mm seals.
The wax used in these sticks is designed to harden brittle to mark the document as being unopened. While this worked well when royal correspondence was delivered by men on horses, NZ Post has done away with the horse delivery option, and these waxes cannot be used on envelopes which will be mailed - you should use flexible wax for these items.
Made in France by J Herbin, manufacturing waxes since 1670.
